Let's Begin With New Zealand Water

Antipodes

Pronounced an-tip-o-deez this water first came our way via a customer who was so enthralled with it at Moonrise in Dubai they asked us to order a few dozen cases "if we could find it".

A few days later while continuing our search a caller again asked for this water. When we asked where they had sampled it, they mentioned the restaurant Aji Kiji in San Francisco, commenting that the water was "to die for".

The next day our persistence paid off and the water was on its way to Renegade.

When we finally opened our own bottle we were struck with the purity of the water. So we did a little research.

Antipodes

Their Intro Explains it Best:

Far beneath the earth’s surface at a depth of 327m is the natural home of Antipodes; an artesian aquifer composed of silica rich ignimbrite rock. Assessed as New Zealand’s deepest high quality water source, it exists under such immense geological pressure that the water flows naturally all the way to the surface. Its measured age at bottling is between 50 to 300 years.

Antipodes water is exceptionally pure and needs only a simple microfiltration before bottling. No sterilization, no additives, no chemical cleansing and processing. Our bottling line is state of the art and our quality testing rigorous - their sole purpose is to ensure the water in our bottles is unaltered, just as nature intended. We bottle only Antipodes at our source – nothing more and nothing less.
There's more...alot more, on their website -pH level, mineral count, etc. If interested...

For now we've been enjoy the water and would like to share it with you.

The water is packaged in glass bottles:
500ml ($3.95) and 1000ml ($6.95)

Also, Antipodes is the world's first premium bottled water company to become Carbon Zero Certified in 2007.

After two decades of dreaming about making his own wine, Clay McLachlan, along with Luca Roagna and Alfredo Roagna’s guidance, planted a vineyard of Nebbiolo on a steep hillside above the house in Bonvicino, outside of Dogliani.
Following the traditional Roagna winemaking protocols, the wine is aged in a small botti for 24 months before bottling, then held for one to two years at a minimum before being released.  As with Roagna’s own Langhe Rosso, McLachlan’s wine is bottled as a “Vino Rosso” to allow for total freedom from the strict rules governing where the grapes come from and how the wine is made.

While most Nebbiolo grown at altitude tends to be easy-going, fruit-forward and a bit lighter in style and structure, San Lorenzo Alto combines the soaring, floral, earthy/red-fruited aromatics of the site with a bit more heft and depth.
This is top-notch Nebbiolo with dark fruit, saline minerality, and savory complexity.

Long time no see, you may say, and so did we, so when this gem of a Sangiovese finally arrived back at Renegade we were excited.
There's lovely freshness here along with a beautiful balance. Bright red fruit, rose petal, blood orange, savory with a hint of pepper spice on the grand finish.
Not a Chianti to miss.
