Where in the World is...

Molise

Molise?

Molise

See that province highlighted in red?

This is the province of Molise, sandwiched between Abruzzi to the North and Campania and Puglia to the South and Southeast. Typically not known for their wines, Eric Guido from Vinous, is attempting to change this. In his March report along with a host of other Molise producers he singled out Di Majo Norante saying, "These wines represent fantastic value". We couldn't agree more.
Table worthy, fresh and lively, terrific food wines and sipping wines for any day of the week. Organic too!
We tasted the range and selected our favorite three, bundled them together, and created what may be our best valued 3-Pack to date.
Here are the details:
Di Majo Norante

We begin with...

...their 2023 Falanghina, an understated, mineral-infused, orchard fruit laden, clean, medium-bodied white wine. This is a wine to be enjoyed throughout the evening. It pairs well with seafood, milder cheeses, Laura Child's Tea Shop Mysteries (any of the books).
Next let's introduce their 100% Sangiovese from the 2021 vintage. Brisk notes of red berries, plum, violets, with plenty of wild cherry and mineral notes. This one's a bad-ass.
Finally we come to one of their top red wines, a Montepulciano 80% - Aglianico 20% blend that's pure dynamite. Blue, black, and red fruits, with floral and earth tones, a hint of cocoa and tension leads to a suspenseful finish. When will it end? It doesn't!

You're thinking that a 3-Pack of these wines would go for around $65? $50? Closer, but no.

Being a slightly forgotten wine region in Italy has its advantages -at least for the consumer- so these three wines, 1 white + 2 reds,
are on sale at Renegade for $45.
Three beautiful wines from a region steeped in history for a song.

As always, the wines are on sale until we sell out.
See you soon!
