2018 Domaine Jean Vullien Altesse (France, Savoie) $18.50
Altesse is the varietal grown in Savoie in the French alps. A mildly exotic, elegant and tasty wine with intriguing complexity and a long finish. A great introduction to this rarely seen grape.

2018 Pavese Blanc de Morgex et de la Salle
(Italy, Valle d'Aosta) $36
Another grape that's rarely seen: Prie Blanc (on pre-phylloxera root stock).
From the highest vineyard site in all of Europe: stunning mountain wildflowers, rocky minerality and great, tingling acidity... all from this indigenous grape, Prié Blanc. We love this wine and you will too.

2018 Altura Rossetto di Sangiovese (Italy, Tuscany) $38
The wine is from the tiny island Isola del Giglio off the Tuscany coast. The winemaker, Francesco Carfagna, bought vineyards on the island then spent over a decade repairing them.
(full story here and it's fasinating).
Sangiovese that sees three days on the skins. Is it a dark Rose or a light red? Either way this amazingly fresh and savory wine is perfect with grilled salmon, fried anchovies or calamari.
We enjoy it so much we were going to keep it for ourselves. Then we received a few addition cases so we thought, why not spread the love.

2019 Grosjean Premetta (Italy, Valle d'Aosta) $28
Another fascinating wine comprised of two native varietals from Vallee d'Aosta: Premetta and Cornalin (90% & 10% is the blend). Light ruby in color and distinctly savory, with notes of mountain herbs and bright red fruit. Tiny production (this is the first time we've ever even seen a bottle) and certified biodynamic.

2016 Jean Paul Brun Moulin-a-Vent La Rochelle (France, Burgundy, Beaujolais) $38
Always one of the very finest wines to be found in the appellation. No carbonic maceration in this one. Just fantastic wine. Although Jean Paul dislikes being called a 'naturalist' that is in fact what he is. This wine is full-bodied and immensly satifying even in its youth. Red and black cherries, violets and spicecake, warm earth, and a fine vein of minerality. Outstanding achievement that raises the bar once again.

2017 Ampeleia Kepos (Italy, Tuscany) $26
50% Alicante Nero (aka Grenache), 30% Mourvedre, 20% Carignano—   sourced from vineyards close to the sea, in Ampeleia di Sotto, where the Mediterranean scrub dominates the landscape and permeates the air with its fragrances. Blackberry & cherry notes, iron and earth. A wonderful wine from famed winemaker Elisabetta Foradori and two of her friends.

2016 Foradori Granato (Italy, Alto Adige, Dolomitiv IGT) $72
Speaking of Elisabetta here we have her flagship wine, the famous 100% Teroldego 'Granato'. A 98 point biodynamically grown and Demeter certified wine that has phenomenal notes of black and blue berries, currants, thyme, graphite, violets, and incense. Tremendous!

We've restocked on one of the best Rose of the year, Clos Cibonne Rose, and also on their delicious red wine also from 100% Tibouren.
