The 2014 vintage in Barbaresco yielded incredible wine, and in the case of the single vineyard crus from Produttori del Barbaresco, they are absolutely stunning. Galloni stated that this might be the best selections of Crus from this estate ever. We agree. Here's what's in stock:
-
2014 Produttori del Barbaresco Riserva Rabaja $68
Powerful, dense and explosive, with tremendous intensity of fruit and structure.
-
2014 Produttori del Barbaresco Riserva Ovello $68
Bright and piercing...energetic frame. Pine, mint, crushed rocks and sweet red plum build into the huge, piercing finish.
-
2014 Produttori del Barbaresco Riserva Montestefano $68
A big enrobing wine, the Montestefano wraps around the palate with stunning depth...sheer class.
|

2018 Domaine Lelievre Rose (France, Lorraine, Cotes de Toul) $20.50
A beautiful blend of Gamay & Pinot Noir from an appellation few have heard of.
Tasting notes include, "super fun" & "ludicrously interesting!"
-
We also have their sparkling wine, same blend, same fun tasting notes! |

2009 Cristal Champagne in Magnums $385 reg 725
Yes. We are offerning Cristal Magnums at nearly 50% off.
Rich, creamy and radiant, the 2009 Cristal captures all of the natural generosity of the vintage while also retaining a good bit of freshness and aromatic intensity.
A monumental effort for Roederer.
And if points matter: 96 Vinous. Add 3 points for James Suckling. |

2013 Thierry Germain Saumur Clos de L'Echelier (France, Loire Valley, Saumur) $54
This is a 'fully realized' Chenin Blanc. That's what we wrote. And it wasn't even that late.
The wine is at its perfect maturity level and would pair epically with the Chinese Chicken Salad at Lucky's, or Julia Child's Roast Chicken. Fascinating wine! |

2018 Proprieta Sperino Rosa del Rosa (Italy, Northern Piedmont, Lessona) $20
Paolo De Marchi moved to Tuscany where he founded the wine producing estate Isole & Olena, which played a leading role in the rebirth of Chianti Classico. But his desire was to return to his family origins one day, and indeed in 1999 with his son Luca he did, and once again took the reins of the historic family estate, at the Castle of Lessona in via Sperino.
Italy's best Rose? You be the judge.
|

2017 Descendientes de Jose Palacios Petalos (Spain, Bierzo) $22
Petalos is produced from biodynamically farmed, small hillside parcels of old vine Mencia grown in rocky slate soil around the village of Corullon and has been a long time favorite. And it just seems to get better and better with each year. Treat yourself this Summer Solstice!
|

2015 Ken Wright Pinot Noir (Oregon, Willamette Valley) $24 reg 35
Once again we have stocked up on this fantastically priced Pinot Noir from Oregon.
Notes: A well balanced and lush wine with beautiful structure and acidity. It is medium bodied, with fresh fruits of bright cherry and marionberry that mingle with notes of warming spices, rose petals, freshly turned earth, cola, and tobacco.
|

2016 Leitmotif Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County) $32
From the winemaker at Jaffurs, Stephen Searle: A wonderfully expressive, savory, juicy wine with hints of spice and subtle hints of thyme, forest floor, wild tarragon (we think).
A worthy wine and winner of two blind Pinot tastings (that's all we know).
|

2016 Domaine des Escaravailles Rasteau Le Ponce (France, Southern Rhone, Rasteau) $28
One of the finest wines to date from this estate as well as from the appellation. The 2016 Rasteau La Ponce shows the exuberance and depth of the vintage, yet also has thrilling purity of fruit and perfect balance. Ultra-incredible.
|

2016 Zorah Areni Karasi (Armenia) $38
You've heard the history: 8000 years of wine making tradition are scattered about the winery's property. With this new vintage, make it eight thousand and one.
Full bodied and well balanced with silky ripe tannins, it is a wine of great elegance and richness and offers an incredibly interesting and unique wine tasting experience.
|

2015 Chateau Cantemerle (France, Bordeaux, Haut-Medoc) $48
59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, the inky colored 2015 Château Cantemerle offers a terrific bouquet of black currants, smoked herbs, earth, and hints of charcoal. Ripe, concentrated, rounded, and undeniably delicious, with ripe tannin, it's a terrific vintage for Cantemerle
|

2012 Elio Altare Barolo Vigna Bricco Cerretta (Italy, Piedmont) $134
This is the first vintage in which this wine is being released as a Riserva. The 2012 Barolo Riserva Cerretta shows the depth, bounty and power. Let this one decant for sometime, or let sleep in a cool cellar for a really long time. |

2018 Marcel Lapierre Raisins Gaulois (France, Vin de France) $18.95
What’s the best turn of phrase to describe this year’s Raisins Gaulois, a vintage that combines the structure and depth of a cru Beaujolais with the unencumbered joie de vivre we’ve come to love and expect? Some options: seriously lighthearted; frivolously brooding; mercurially pragmatic. Let’s all try a bottle and then take a vote. |

Giuseppe Quintarelli
A outstanding line-up of wines from Quintarelli in the Veneto have arrived including his 2011 Amarone ($365), 2011 Valpolicella ($98), the Primofiore ($64) and the indulgent Ca del Merlo ($98)
